We had an awesome at this spot. We enjoyed the excellent ambience and the meals. The staff are super affable. I’m happy we eventually decided to eat here.
Excellent service and the food of course, is amazing. Kind of pricey so not the place to go if you're on a budget. I ordered the 6 course meal with The Deluxe Treat (X2) and Edamame and a carafe of the house sake, warm. Spent $130 with tip.
Downtown location & parking garage validated. Seated quickly, Vanessa was our server, Edgar was the chef. Presentation was on point, spatula juggling, flaming chuchu train, beating fried rice heartbreaker, Edgar was pulling out all the tricks. Spicy edamame was SPICY! Yum.. Always enjoy the show and the food was delicious. Can't beat the Trio
I was craving miso soup and some "RA"Ckin rice from RA Sushi. Uber Eats had my order placed with this location and I am very disappointed. First, the app didn't show me the soup bowl size and for the price, I'm extremely disappointed. Plus, I had no instructions that they wouldn't put my tofu, seaweed, and green onion in the actual soup. I only found this very small container that actually smells weird when I was looking for my eel and spicy mayo sauce for my sushi which I am missing. I'm very disappointed in the accuracy of the order and will not order from this location again.
Not enough space for social distancing. Most od the food was delicious and served with entertainment. Try not to offend the hostess by asking for a fortune cookies though. Sorry. lol. My scallops were a little small and needed more seasonings and sauce. Other than that the place was a good time.
The staff asked if I wanted to see the show and seated me with 2 friends and 3 teens. It was a good idea to get help with menu and chopstick technique. The waitress was superb and the cook was very entertaining. Park in the garage and they will validate your receipt.
We were celebrating my birthday. Edgar, the chef made the experience, amazing. Even though, I have been there, lots of times.
The quality and taste of the food and the chefs are an unmistakeable mark that Benihana has. I enjoy the atmosphere at this place even when it is crowded and you have to share a table; it could happen, but the food and experience holds firm regardless of the capacity. The drinks are top notch; especially the ones with Sake in them, that might be all of them....
Looking for a perfect place for the carnivorous family. So much fun for all ages! Staff is so awesome as well. Had a great time!
Parking is paid only be aware. Good food. Staff is nice. Great bday spot. ❤
Great food ,gread servive.i will definitely come back again, delicious and they give you an extraordinary food along with their caracter
Fun, traditional and very delicious. Good Sake too! Should be on everyone's "kinda-bucket list" like the Willis Tower (former known as Sears Tower) or the John Hancock Building or Water Tower Place in Chicago. Good to go at least once in a lifetime!
I've been to Benihana at least formally 6 times. Last week I had the taste for a small salad with fried rice. Nothing formal just lunch. But the hostages treated me like I was broke and didn't belong in the Restaurant. Same on them. But the food still is great.
It was my birthday and also my first time there. It was a great experience seeing all the entertainment right before my eyes. I just didn't know all that fun to cook food.
Good service, the chicken fried rice was subpar, though it did tatse like a bland rice with little to no flavor. The sauce which has horseradish does not taste great, thought that it was yum yum sauce but i was wrong. the red sauce on the other hand was great! Overall the service was great!
The location was a little smaller, but the service was excellent.
Waited almost 2 hours to be seated .Food was over cooked, waiter was no help. And got the pleasure to witness one of the managers or whoever yelling at anyone employee infront of everyone very unprofessional 🙄 not the best location I've been to
It was a pleasre entertaining and the food was fresh and delish
This location just doesn't get it right. Service was slow, not very efficient, and unorganized. My onion soup wasn't hot. My date ordered extra chicken with his rice, but didn't receive it. People were vaping at the tables. Just overall not a good experience and not what I'm used to when I go to Benihana. I'll continue to go to the location on Westheimer.
Absolutly great show and good. The chef was very fun and interactive, lots of jokes, and very skilled. I have gone to many hibachi grills that do shows and this one by far was one of the best. The food was really good and a great price on their lunch menu. The chef was happy to give extra seasoning and sauce on request and the waitress refilled the waters very promptly. Overall an amazing experience and will happy be back soon.
I had the best experience with placing a pick up order! All of the staff was friendly and helpful! The food was delicious! They created a memorable experience during this pandemic. I was able to use my birthday coupon and they treated me with ice cream! We can’t wait to go back for dine in service!
They are really nice their. The only thing is it feels so cramped but other then that love it!
Love this place I highly recommend it if you never been there, but just as a heads up if you want to go for lunch be there before 3pm
The employees at Benihana’s downtown are always so sweet ! My husband and I come atleast once a week and it’s so incredible to eat around happy faces ! They’re the best they even gave us a free Benihana mask 😷 awesome!
Best food experience! The sauces are amazing!
This is a great Japanese restaurant to come for those special occasions. I have been coming to Benihanas for years and I have not had a single bad experience. The food is cooked in front of you with a great showmanship of the chef. This is a great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.
Great location downtown and easy to find. We parked in the garage that was part of the same building and we're seated within 5 min. I ordered the Hibachi Chicken and my wife ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. The meal came with salad, soup and entree. The food was very good, exactly the kind of quality and selection you would expect from a Hibachi restaurant. What pushed me to give the full five stars was the staff. The greeter seated us quickly The waitress was polite and took great care of us. The chef (Doan) put on a GREAT show. He worked hard to engage with his customers and was in a great mood. To be honest, I was a bit worn down from the day and he cheered me up. A solid five stars and a wonderful place to take family or friends.
Excellent - The chicken fried rice alone makes it a worthy dinner destination, but there is soooooo much more to enjoy.
The waitstaff is very attentive to your needs. And the grill cooks are phenomenal... I will definitely be going back...
Always enjoy Benihana. This is my first time at the Downtown Houston location.
I came to this place for the first time with my date. We were rushed to order by the waitress. She was quite rude. She was not very friendly. When I told the lady that it was my first time she snatched the menu from me and poured at the menu items begrudgingly. She did not do a great job busting our table. I had to ask her to take the dishes so that the cook could put rice on my plate. When the cook came WE ALL asked him to season our food with extra garlic but SEVERAL times and he did not. This resulted in all of us having to add salt and sauce to our food. He was not fulfilling our request at all. I really was looking forward to having a great dinner at a new place only to be treated like a second class citizen. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly cook opposite of us. That is why I gave a two. Other than that. 👎🏽
went with friends for a quick dinner whilst downtown. The place was full so had to wait in a queue until got seated. we three shared a table with other foodies. The Mexican chef was great at entertaining us with her culinary and entertaining skills. this is typical live cooking and serving station, so the food choices are limited but fun to watch being cooked is served right from the pan. cold craft Japanese beer went well with hot food. Its commercialized Japanese cuisine to suit the local tastebud and fast food preparation. The garlic butter zucchini was at its best. Good food, nice ambiance, entertaining chef and no fancy.
Biggest issue is the not so fantastic air conditioning. Food was decent, scallops a bit overcooked. Service however was good and my ice tea was always topped off. Our hibachi chef was also very skilled and entertaining.
The food is great but I had to send my drink back. We ordered Margaritas but had the key thing missing which was the tequila. They Claimed to of put Don Julio but I'm sorry, they don Julio they serve does not match the don julio from Mexico.
I ordered to go food and this is not the first time I have ordered normally I don’t have time to sit down at a hibachi restaurant so I just prefer to order out and on my way home I guess soup leaked all over the bag and as I was caring the bag inside all my food busted out on the ground and Then manager Michael or something like that told me once you leave the restaurant It is not their responsibility! He said they’ve never had anything like this happen but ironically it did happen and I’m kind of mad because I was starving and had not ate all day which is my fault and I love Benihana’s go there at least once a week or order out once a week but from now on I will not be going and I will not recommend this place to anyone Since it’s not their responsibility once you leave that soup leaked all over the bag because they could not put it in a plastic bag to make sure that doesn’t happen . From now on my family and I will be going to another place
I love this place! I went for their happy hour which is from 3pm-7pm. My friend and I had some appetizers, Las Vegas Roll, Crunchy Shrimp Roll, beef Dumplings, Benihana Punch and the Mai Tai (the one n the pic, sorry I didnt take a pic of the Benihana Punch-It was actually my favorite! 🤔 But... IT WAS ALL AMAZIIING!!!
Do not go here unless you want to waste a whole night. Hostess’s were extremely rude and if you want to be seated in a timely manner be prepared to “hook them up$$.” Arrive at this restaurant at 8pm waited an hour and a half to be seated, another 45 minutes to get drink and orders in, finally got our food and left @ 11:15. And we didn’t even sit at a grill!! We sat at a regular table. Food was average nothing to brag about. On the plus side our waitress was extremely nice and the only reason this got 2 stars. She was a older oriental lady and the best part about this establishment.
